AMC computer facilities are provided via a wide area switched network that encompasses campuses at Newnham, Beauty Point and Rosebud. Newnham and Beauty Point are linked via a dedicated microwave connection.

The AMC network allows staff and students access to a variety of business and scientific applications, programming languages, printing services and backup facilities for general and research use. Internet/Intranet access and E-Mail services are available for staff and students.

The AMC network supports approximately 250 staff users.

Student computing laboratories form a significant part of AMC's computer facilities.

At Newnham:

• 2 General Computing Laboratories of 20 machines each
• 1 CAD Laboratory of 20 machines
• 1 Specialist Laboratory for 4th year students of 7 machines
• 1 GMDSS Laboratory of 16 machines
• 1 Marine Environment Laboratory of 20 machines

At Beauty Point:

• 1 General Computing Laboratory of 21 machines

Computer laboratories at both locations provide 24 hour, seven days a week access to students.
