On January 1, 2008, AMC integrated with the University of Tasmania becoming a specialist institute of the University.

AMC contains three National Centres:

•  The National Centre for Maritime Engineering and Hydrodynamics
•  The National Centre for Ports and Shipping
•  The National Centre for Marine Conservation and Resource Sustainability

Each of these centres at AMC provide technical knowledge, practical skills and industry awareness that gives our graduates the edge when seeking employment in maritime industries. With a graduate employment rate approaching 100% AMC is ranked in the top 10 maritime education institutes in the world.
