Career Opportunities

Imagine sailing around the world, docking in exotic ports and getting paid to do it?

An increasing number of top-end seafaring jobs are being created as a result of a boost in the cruise industry and the boom in the global maritime industry. This means that as an AMC graduate you could be among the select few who get the opportunity to travel the world while getting paid to do so.

AMC is the place to start your seafaring career and gain the necessary qualifications. You will be trained via programs that are nationally approved by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), State Marine Authority and, where appropriate, satisfy the STCW95 convention.

Study options will take you through Ocean (Bluewater/International) pathways if you want to work on larger merchant vessels including tankers, bulk cargo carriers or passenger liners.

If you want to work as a deckhand on small coastal vessels such as a tug, tourism boat or fishing vessel then you can follow the coastal (Australian) seafaring pathways.
