The Australian Maritime College and University of Tasmania have integrated. This means that students will receive most communication relating to the administration of their course from the University of Tasmania. This includes the notification of fees.
A Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) is a place which is subsidised by Australian Government funding. Students who receive a CSP are required to contribute only part of the cost of their course. This is referred to as the student contribution.
Most Australian citizens, Permanent Residents and New Zealand citizens are eligible for a CSP.
The Commonwealth Government's ‘HECS-HELP' loan scheme allows eligible students to defer the amount they contribute to the cost of their course, allowing them to pay no tuition fees upfront. Students eligible for a HECS-HELP loan are also eligible to pay their contribution upfront and receive a 20% discount.
International students are required to pay the full tuition fee for their course of study.
Vocational Training & Education (VTE) students are required to pay their fees upfront. Many VTE courses run by the Australian Maritime College are subsidised.
The Australian Maritime College offers a range of scholarships and bursaries to assist students to meet their financial commitments while studying. For information on bursaries and scholarships please visit the Scholarships Information page.
