Westlink Shipping Services, a global project shipping company is seeking employment expressions of interest from students within the AMC Department of Maritime and Logistics Management.

Two positions located in Fremantle, Western Australia are soon to be available within the company.

Operations Assistant

The above position requires a person to join the operations department. The role is varied and will begin initially as an administrative position but opportunity to advance to project management, cargo planning, cargo superintendence, brokering and vessel management exists to those that demonstrate the necessary aptitude.

Reporting to the Cargo Superintendent and Operations Manager, the position will involve planning complex project ship operations both with Australia and abroad. The operations are challenging and require patience and a problem solving attitude. The position provides experience in many areas of cargo operations and shipping in general.

Candidates must be prepared to travel within Australia and globally and work outside office hours. Most importantly, the candidate will need to ensure that pride in their work will never be compromised.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience in leadership, project management and vessel operations.

Customer Service Representative

The above position calls for an assistant within the Westlink Liner Department. Duties will include cargo booking, customer service, cargo documentation, sales and client liaison. Although the position works closely with the operations department and the position has parallels to operations duties, the position will suit those looking to enter the corporate sector of the shipping environment and will have little requirement for time onboard company vessels.
