Would you like to participate in a hands-on activity organised by staff and research students at the National Centre for Marine Conservation and Resource Sustainability?Activities are designed for science focus groups in high schools and college and have included zooplankton in larval marine fish food chains, and fish anesthesia and measurement. The activities have an aquaculture focus but also encompass ecology, biology, environment, mathematics, technology and fish health. Sessions normally run for 1-2 hours on or off campus depending on topic. Please contact Dr John Purser to discuss topics that may be of interest.
NCMCRS staff offer a range of topics for class presentations.
Your class can hear about culture of different species or
future of aquaculture or find out if you can get a madfish disease
from eating uncooked fish. Would you like to sample aquaculture as an exciting career
option? Work experience placements in the Aquaculture Centre are
available to high school students through the high school work placement
program. For more information please contact Dr John Purser. View a presentation on Salmon production in Tasmania
