Hi Everyone - It seems that there are at least five of us now, I'm a bit of a late arrival to the forum having just returned this weekend to the luxury of internet access after 2 months at sea. Wouldn't have made any difference even if we had access this trip - it was too rough to stay in a chair and work anyway. A quick introduction to me - I work for the Australian Antarctic Division (Sea and Air Operations) which takes me south to the frozen continent on our icebreaker 'Aurora Australis' every summer. While away I get to make the most of 18-24 hours of daylight - working! My game is the ship and coordinating anything that operates from it (people/barges/boats/helicopters/fixed wing aircraft). Once I am home again my job is to organise logistics for the following season. This subject will hopefully assist me understanding some of the environment that I work in. From the content of the forum I have a bit of catching up to do this week so I'd best head off and get started. Looking forward to reading things from you all as the semester progresses. Cheers, Nicki.
