Tip – Using the Forum

Hello IHRMers

My apologies for the lateness in beginning this forum. There were a number of IT related issues in getting this sorted out and then I was overseas for a few weeks. Hopefully we can still make the use of the Froum worthwhile for the time we have left.

Just a few thoughts on using the Forum. I encourage all of you to introduce yourselves including letting us know where you work and which country you live in because not only do I want the Forum to be used to assist with understanding the unit but also to help you build your own network. For example, it would be good to know when visiting or doing business with a Company if one of your study colleagues works there. Start building up your contacts now!

Also, if you wish to discuss any aspects of the unit, including the assignments, then this is also a good use of the Forum. Having said this, I would not like to see you posting your assignment for others to see. Asking for views or clarification however is suitable as is any general discussion. As far as I am concerned, this Forum acts as our virtual classroom, therefore discussion on a whole range of issues should occur. Although I am happy to provide and participate in the Forum, for it to be successful and of use, interaction from ALL of us is required. Similar to you, I too am very busy, so if there is little interest in the Forum, my interest will also wane as it is pointless me writing messages to myself. My preference is to see the Forum being a huge success with benefits being gained all round.
