Course:
Marine Resource Management

Kim completes her MBA (Marine Resource Management) in 2006. She is a partner in a law firm in New Zealand that specialises in fisheries and maritime law and has also had experience as a Fisheries Prosecutor for the NZ Ministry of Fisheries.

Working within the Government department which has responsibility for the management of fisheries resources within New Zealand, Kim became aware of the opportunities that existed for lawyers with specialist knowledge in the fields of fisheries and aquaculture management. Through her studies, she has gained a valuable insight into what the organisation was trying to achieve and her role within that organisation.

“The expertise I have so far developed has not only assisted in my work for the Ministry of Fisheries, but also has provided me with employment opportunities outside the Ministry. I now lead our aquaculture and fisheries division.”
