Tip - Assignment 2 - I really spoil you guys

So how are the stress levels guys, I know mine have increased - who needs coffee anyway to get that extra boost!

Assignment 2 is due on Monday 19 May.  I hope you have already read my feedback for assignment one both on the forum and on your assignment.  You will have noticed there is only one question this time.  As the total assignment is 2700 words in length, and you are able to exceed this by a maximum of 10%, that amount (about 270) words can be used between the introduction and conclusion.  Going over this amount will result in lost marks to offset the advantage gained over your colleagues.

The assignment question refers to a case study.  This means that I won't be getting generalised discussion, but instead, discussion that is focused on what is discussed in the case study.  Your role is to discuss the IHRM challenges, and you will see there are many.  You may wish to group some of these challenges together if it helps with discussion rather than having a couple of sentences dedicated to each challenge – this is all about making best use of the word count.

The discussion of the challenges then needs to be tied to explaining WHY we need to understand that they exist in terms of becoming more strategic in our expat management.  Please note the comment that issues discussed in Assignment 1 should not be included for this assignment.  To clarify this, issues on expat selection and staffing approaches should not be discussed unless they are mentioned briefly to set the context for other challenges.

Well that's enough from me, I have told you enough of the top secret information. Remember to look back on previous postings for other generic tips.  Enjoy the weekend - ooops sorry you won't you will be working on the assignment ;o)  don’t worry, I have plenty of marking that I have to do over the weekend for other subjects.

Cheers

Stephen
