I am pleased that you have taken the opportunity to join this forum and have succesfully worked out how to use it. 

I hope you find this forum useful both academically and as a means to establish contacts with your colleagues in this unit. I encourage you to introduce yourself and to regularly interact with me and your colleagues on the forum. 

This forum is the place to ask questions about the content of the unit in general and the pieces of assessment, to put forward opinions and suggestions, and to provide another means of communication. Feel free to introduce the issues you consider are relevant, whether they come from your current work situation, from previous experience as well as general questions about the unit.  

Often a student will ask a question and other students will benefit from the answer. This means that I am able to access a wider audience with the response and be both effective and efficient. Remember there are no "dumb" questions.

You are encouraged to relate our topics to your organisation and individual work situation, however be careful not to release information that is "sensitive" or might be considered confidential.  As we progress through the unit please let me know how you are doing and your thoughts  on this type of discussion forum. 

 My major function is to assist you. If you are having problems, the sooner you contact me the better. My contact details are provided in the Unit Specification Booklet accompanying the study materials.  I hope you will find this unit enjoyable and fruitful.
