evaluation on assignment 1 and hints for assignment 2 - Distance students

Dear all, I just completed marking your first assignment and I have to acknowledged that I enjoyed reading your papers. Overall result was pretty good: 5% high distinction, 10% distinction, 38% credit, 33% pass, and, unfortunately, 14% fail maily because serious plagiarism was found. I hope you all will improve more in the coming assessment tasks. The second assignment consists of two questions. For the first question, there are two critical issues you need to explain and discuss: (1) why there is a connection between SCM strategy and product lifecycle, and (2) how SCM strategies may change along the stages of the product’s lifecycle. Chapter 4 of your text is an initial good resource. For example, when a product is at the introductory phase of its lifecycle, inventory and distribution strategies for that product in its supply chain may be very much different as compared to when it is at the decline stage (for instance, look at the demand at these two stages and how these strategies should correspond). For question 2, you are required to critique, by explaining and discussing your arguments, on whether dynamic learning has positive impacts on supply chain performance. Again, chapter 3 of your text is an initial good resource but your discussion would have to develop further from that. For example, you can focus on explaining and discussing how dynamic learning in supply chain, i.e. coordination and collarboration between SC partners impact on various aspects of supply chain performance, i.e. resource allocation, organizational structure, inventory management, distribution management, etc. Of course, you should explain in advance what dynamic learning means in SCM. I hope the above are of some help to you. Should you have any doubt, do not hesitate to share and discuss with me and other fellow students. Cheers Vinh Thai
