MLM Toolbox for Students - Submission of Assessment Items

On-Campus Students

An Assignment Cover Sheet, which is available from the Academic Support office, must be attached to all written coursework.

Students must lodge written coursework in the assignment box outside the Academic Support office on or before the due date by 16:30 hours. Please remember that it is your responsibility to keep a copy - even in the best of systems, items sometimes go astray: you may be required to provide a duplicate copy.

Extensions for coursework assignments

Extensions may be granted on medical or compassionate grounds and will not normally be granted because of work or other commitments. Medical certificates or other evidence must be attached and must contain information that justifies the extension sought. Requests for extensions must be put in writing prior to the due date and must be agreed to by the Unit Coordinator.

If an assignment is lodged after the due date, or the extension date, the marking of such assessment is at the sole discretion of the Unit Coordinator. The penalty for late submission of assignments is a deduction of up to 10% of the maximum mark for the assignment per day.

Return of coursework assignments

Unless alternative arrangements are made, coursework assignments are generally returned during classes. The Unit Coordinator will advise students of the relevant arrangements.

Examinations

These are held each semester in Launceston. The dates of the examination period are included in the Unit Specification Booklet. Each semester the examination timetable is published on AMC's website.

Deferred examinations are held annually in January. The Department of Maritime and Logistics Management does not offer supplementary examinations.

In order to pass a unit of study, students need to submit all required assessment items by dates outlined in the appropriate Unit Specification Booklet, achieve a minimum 40% of available marks in the examination and cumulatively gain a minimum of 50% of all available marks in the unit of study.
