The Board of Studies is the principal academic body in AMC. The Board is responsible for setting and maintaining academic standards and conducts reviews of courses as appropriate.
Each course in the Department of Maritime and Logistics Management has a Course Team comprising all the Unit Coordinators who teach on the course. The Course Coordinator, who is appointed by the Head of Department, leads the Course Team.
The Course Committee is the formal body for developing and administering each course. The Course Committee is responsible for maintaining the academic standard of the course and for the continuing review of the course's operation. All members of the Course Team, the Head of Department and elected undergraduate and postgraduate student representatives are members of the Course Committee.
All members of the Course Committee, with the exception of the student representatives, are also members of the Course Examination Committee, plus the Academic Coordinator. The Course Examination Committee determines the classification of students in all units of study as indicated in the assessment schedule, and is responsible for all decisions on student progress. It also submits reports on examinations as may be required by the Academic Board.
