| AMC’s Beauty Point campus is a 45min drive from the main Newnham campus, along the East Tamar; and is home to predominantly coastal seafaring students. Shuttle transport will be provided for those on the day. |
Transport and accommodation
Parking at the Launceston campus
If you are bringing your own car, all parking is FREE on campus all day, however we do ask that you park only in those in orange on the AMC Campus Map. Infringements will be issued if persons park on the grass, pathways, blocking emergency entrances or park in disabled bays without a permit.
Airport Shuttle Service
The Airporter Shuttle Bus Service operates from the Launceston Airport to the Launceston CBD and surrounding regions. Contact (03) 6343 6677 for reservations and enquiries.
Tasmanian Bus Services
Tasmania’s own Redline operates bus services across the state. If you are travelling from across the state to Launceston there are a number of routes available for you to view and purchase online.
Accommodation
Family accommodation is available at affordable prices in the following places.
- Adina Place, walking distance from the city centre
- Alanvale Apartments and Motor Inn, walking distance from the college
- The Peppers Seaport Hotel is a short and easy drive to the university
- The Country Club Casino has good facilities
- Ashton Gate Bed & Breakfast is centrally located in good area
- Hotel Grand Chancellor is a short and easy drive to the campus
* Competition conditions: winner must be able to depart on 25 August and return on 26 August, flights depart from your nearest capital city and are not transferable. Winning entrants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Competition will be drawn at 12 noon on Wednesday 1 August 2012 and the winner will be notifed by email.
