What Accommodation is available and how much does it cost?

Tasmania’s cost of living is identified by the Australian Bureau of Statistics as one of the lowest in Australia. It is estimated that a student sharing a house in Launceston spends approximately AUD$250 a week on essential living expense. This figure excludes additional costs of entertainment and running a car and is calculated over the period of a calendar year.

AMC provides the option of onsite accommodation for students at both its Launceston and Beauty Point campuses. The halls of residence are set in landscaped gardens and provide easy access to all on-campus facilities. From the Launceston Campus it's an easy 15-20 minute walk to the Mowbray Shopping Centre, where you will find supermarkets, shops, banks and post office.

AMC Residences provides a number of different accommodation packages which include varying levels of catering and room servicing and prices vary accordingly.

AMC residences is now operated by Accommodation Services at the University of Tasmania.
