Postgraduate study pathways
Postgraduate applicants have the choice of applying for entry into the postgraduate program at one of three levels – Graduate Certificate; Graduate Diploma or Master of Business Administration (MBA). The three levels of postgraduate study build upon each other. If a student enters at a Graduate Certificate level and successfully completes that course, the four units studied are fully recognised if that student wishes to then apply to enter the Graduate Diploma program or the MBA program. Alternatively, a postgraduate applicant may wish to initially apply for direct entry into the MBA program.
The MBA program has two options available for study. The options are (A) fully by coursework or (B) partly by coursework plus a final dissertation.
Note that for either option the following units are compulsory; JNB522 Business Logistics, JNB517 Management and JNB518 Finance for Decision-making plus one of the following JNB521 Maritime Economics, JNB520 Maritime Law, JNB516 Port Management and Strategy and JNB526 International Maritime Policy.

To undertake this option, candidates need to successfully complete the unit JNB508 Business Research before they start their dissertation.
