Professional Development Opportunities
Opportunities exist to participate in a range of UTAS-central and AMC (in-house) programs. As well, taking on a teaching/learning project is a powerful way to gain further insights into teaching and learning.
UTAS-central staff development programs (teaching and learning)
- Workshops and events conducted by CALT - including activities centred on teaching with technology, and events such as the annual Teaching Matters conference.
- Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching - offered through CALT. A 4-unit program with full HECS support provided to UTAS staff. The first unit, ELT501: Foundations of University Learning and Teaching is mandated for new staff appointments where appointees kack suitable teaching qualifications and/or experience.
UTAS Teaching Development Grants – funded and supported projects are a great vehicle for action-based professional development. See the UTAS Grants web site.
