IMarEST Advanced Diploma Marine Engineering

The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) will offer two scholarships for engineering students in 2010. This competitive scholarship is available two outstanding students enrolled in the Advanced Diploma of Marine in 2010 – one in the Cadet Program and the other in the traditional path.

• Advanced Diploma in Marine Engineering (Chief Engineer)
• Advanced Diploma in Marine Engineering (Cadet Program)

Closing Date: 3 January 2010

Scholarship Benefit

The scholarship awarded will provide a cash benefit of $1,000.00 paid to two students each in fortnightly instalments during the academic year.

Duration of Scholarship

• Two Semesters

Eligibility

• a full-time student
• enrolled in Adv Diploma Marine Engineering
• not in receipt of any other scholarship
• membership of IMarEST

Selection Criteria

• demonstrated excellence in undergraduate study to date
• demonstrated leadership potential in the AMC environment

The Application should include:

• a copy of academic transcript;
• a brief statement from the applicant outlining his/her long trerm goals and the benefits he/she hope to derive from the course;
• a curriculum vitae, including any community leadership or service activities in which the applicant has participated;
• a confidential reference from an academic mentor.
