I completed my marine science degree and thought for a change I would go fishing. This took me south from Port Stephens, NSW to Esperance WA but most of my time was spent fish trawling out of Greenwell Point NSW. I was also prawn trawling, tuna poling, purse seining and tuna longlining.
I joined the AMC in 1989 and have managed the Certificate in fishing operations courses and taught Master 4, Skipper 3 and Coxswains as well as Fisheries Degree students. I enjoy teaching survival in the AMC pool.
During my time here I have written the Seafood Industry Training Package and managed several national curriculum development projects for that industry. I have also initiated two nationally funded staff development projects to develop networks in the industry and held seats on the Tasmanian and Australian Seafood Industry Training Advisory Bodies.
