Maritime Operations and Coastal Seafaring

Coastal Seafarers are hands-on and dynamic. From running catamaran tourist trips and fishing charters to working on rig tenders and off-shore vessels, seafarers are highly mobile. Our flexible courses are industry relevant and provide you with a qualification that could take you anywhere.

Our teaching staff have been recruited for their specialist seafaring skills and dedicated approach to training and student experience. This means when you study with us, you will have access to highly experienced staff with years of professional knowledge and valuable industry connections from around the world.

Our facilities are world class to make your educational experience practical, applied, and job relevant. These include training vessels specific to your requirements, fully operational and equipped engineering workshops, navigation and engine room simulators, an electrical lab, a dedicated firefighting center, survival at sea facilities, and seamanship workshops.

Located in Australia's picturesque island state of Tasmania, AMC offers a wide range of industry-focused courses at all levels. Our training courses are conducted from both our Newnham and Beauty Point campuses, both utilising our advanced suite of maritime training facilities and fleet of training vessels to deliver training that makes you truly job ready.

Please Note: The enrolment pathways and content of these programs will vary to meet the requirements of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) Deck and Engineering Officer Licenses that AMC is approved to deliver.

* The modes, structure and locations of delivery can be flexible by formal arrangement, especially to meet the particular total workforce needs of organisations. It may be possible to run courses in other locations provided there are adequate client numbers and appropriate facilities available, and provide delivery in blocks and/or via blended learning.
