Please note: The Seafarer courses are open to applicants who can satisfy the entry requirements. All seafarer courses are linked to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) or State Marine Authority licenses which have statutory requirements concerning sea time, medical fitness and eyesight.

Residents of Tasmania making enquiries about eligibility should contact Marine and Safety Tasmania, GPO Box 607, Hobart, TASMANIA, 7001. Students from interstate should contact the marine authority in their own state:

If you have any questions about your eligibility please contact us on 03 6335 4646 or email

Step 2 - Send Admission Information

On completion of the Admission Form either scan and email or mail the Admission form and copies of the supporting documents (NOT originals) to AMC.

Step 3 - Offer of a Place

Upon reciept of Admission information the Admission Officer will assess your application and may contact you for further information.

If successful, the notification will take the form of a formal letter of offer, outlining the course in which the place is offered, the expected commencement date, the full course fee and the expiry date beyond which the offer of place may lapse.

A Provisional Offer of Admission may be made when an applicant has applied for a formal course of study but had to complete additional studies (e.g. Maths) or supply additional information.

Step 4 - Acceptance

When you receive the letter of offer you must return, the Acceptance of Offer and 20% deposit within 14 days to reserve a place in the course.

AMC will refund any funds paid in full in the event of a course being cancelled or discontinued.

If the participant withdraws from a course with more than eight week’s notice we will refund any course fees paid less an administrative fee of 10% of the course cost.

Should the participant withdraw for any reason other than illness (verified by a medical certificate), with less than eights week’s notice, 20% of the course cost will be forfeited. If the participant fails to commence the course the participant may forfeit all monies paid.

Refunds may be sought and negotiated on an individual basis with AMC where delivery has commenced. In this instance a percentage of student fees will be refunded dependent on the percentage of the service provided.

Enrolment fees paid by students for any program cover administrative components of service provision and are non-refundable. All AMC course fees are designed to minimise the impact of fees and charges on the student through flexible payment plans, dependent on program type.
